There are a lot of free Unicode fonts available at different Web sites, and you can make any keyboard layout you like with the available free tools, both with KDWIN and with the Microsoft tools. I recommend that you switch to Unicode, the earlier the better. That means you will be writing something that soon nobody else will be able to read, except those who have Armscii-8 from the old days. The problem is, that everything is changing to Unicode and you want to use the older standard which is incompatible with a lot of other fonts and is incompatible with Macintosh. For Tarumian fonts or any other Armscii-8 font, you need to use the NLS 2.0 keyboard. The keyboard definition file in Windows is for Unicode. You are trying to use an Armscii-8 with a Unicode keyboard. I am trying to type using the font face ArTarumian Govazd from: I have to try Vista to see if it works.Ībout creating a Georgian or Armenian document I am using Windows XP but have access to Vista. The font is Armenian but it is not the one I want. I enabled Regional and Language Options for Armenian and installed keyboard layout.Īfter selecting the font I want to type in Word automatically switches to Sylfaen. I downloaded the font and moved it to Windows/Fonts. I am trying to type in Armenian using an Armenian font from the site I linked to bellow, but I am having trouble.
